Eric Bateman - Camp Jersey #46
025_25.jpg

Eric Bateman-Guard-6'1" 178 lbs
College-UMASS-Boston '05-NCAA III

College:  Played in the New England Little East Conference for Division III UMASS-Boston.  Posted 14.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.2 steals for UMB.  One of the team leaders for UMB and one of the best all-around players in the Little East Conference.  A team captain.   MVP of several games.

Eric Bateman's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

Bateman is a player who our staff was really impressed with.  A player who is fundamentally sound and showed great flashes during our Day 1 of camp.  Was a little complacent in Day 2 but picked up his play and stock rose during the last day (Day 3) of camp.  Has great basketball instincts and seems to really know how to play the game of basketball.  A good half court oriented point guard.  Would be a great addition to a team who runs pro sets.  Makes the right pass and plays great in the flow of a basketball game.  Doesn’t make many mistakes, which is good from your point guard.  An average athlete but makes up for it with basketball IQ.  Has good handle with the basketball and shoots the ball well from the outside.  Bateman jump shot looks good whenever he releases it and it is very fluent.  Plays good on the ball and off the ball defense.  Seems to have good potential from a pro basketball standpoint.

Christopher Black-Guard-6'2" 185 lbs
College:  Claflin University '05-NAIA I

College:  Played at NAIA I Claflin University and competed in the EIAC Conference.  Was one of the top EIAC guards his final season.  Was coached by Ronald E. Woodard.  Very solid college career.

Christopher Black's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

Black is a player who gets our staff’s personal recommendation to any pro team.  A player who has passion for the game and skills to match.  Wants to get better and puts forth the effort unlike a lot of players in today’s game.  Has great understanding of the game of basketball.  Knows when to take the right shot, make the right pass, and basically just makes strategic decisions on the court.  Can play the point but is a natural shooting guard (swing man).  Can rebound the ball average from the guard position but needs to attack more.  A very good athlete who has good leaping ability.  Has good handles on the wing and during transitions moments.  Has a very nice shooting touch from the outside, mechanics are outstanding.  Hard-nosed players who doesn’t stop playing hard until the whistle blows.  A solid defender.  Indeed has all the tools to compete on pro level.

Earl (Thomas) Bullock - Camp Jersey #38
019_19.jpg

Earl (Thomas) Bullock-Guard-6'1" 215 lbs
College:  University of Tennessee at Martin '05-NCAA I

College:   As a junior for UTM Bullock averaged 16.0 points per game.  Scored a career high 26 points vs. UNLV.  Scored double figures in 24 of the 28 games he played in.  Had a very impressive college career along with being named Newcomer of the Year averaging 18.5 points a game.

Earl (Thomas) Bullock's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

Bullock is a player who you can see from drills and play was groomed from a Division I program.  A playmaker and penetrator who is a good perimeter shooter.  Has decent quickness and the ability to stop and pull up for a jump shot.  Aggressive offensive player who keeps pressure on your defense because of his scoring ability.  Had an excellent Day 2 at our camp as our staff praised his play on both ends of the floor.  Seems to be comfortable at both guards spot especially the shooting guard position.  An average athlete.  Rebounded the basketball quite well from his position during the duration of camp.  Is a very good ball handler in half court sets as well as in transition.  Good perimeter shooter!  Has good toughness on both ends but excels in that area on the offensive end of the floor.  Coming from a Division I program with the skills that he displayed at camp really puts Bullock in a good position to earn a contract playing on some sort of professional basketball level.  Skills are there and if he continues to put in the work in the gym should have a good pro career.

Kyle Burke - Camp Jersey # 12
026_26.jpg

Kyle Burke-Guard-6'1" 200 lbs
College:  College of New Jersey '05-NCAA III

College:  During his senior season for the Lions posted a solid year with averages of 14.2 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assist a night.  One of the top 3-point shooters in DIII hoops with 91 made on the year and shooting 46%.  Also, led the ECAC conference in 3-point shooting.

Kyle Burke's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

Burke is one of those players that a lot of pro teams on a lot of different do not have.  In saying that, Burke is one of the select few PURE SHOOTERS out there in the basketball world.  During our Day I individual skills & test Burke really excelled in every shooting drill as Senior Camp Staff Member Coach Manuel stated the Burke “was one of the top shooters that we have at camp”.  Burke picked up right were he left off as he proved our staff right with his play on Day 2 & Day 3.  Not only an excellent shooter this player displayed good athleticism as he took the ball to the basket, played well in transition and also seemed to be a great team player.  Not a great rebounder but does try to get in the mix a little.  Scrappy defender who doesn’t take many plays off.  Handles the ball pretty solid at the guard spot.  Hard-nosed player.  Indeed does have NBA shooting range and takes good shots in rhythm with the offense and flow of the game.  Can undeniably see this kid playing on a pro level and if a team is looking for a player who can shoot the basketball and give you a few extra things on the court…Burke is you guy.

He finished second on the team in blocked shots (20), fourth in steals (24) and fifth in assists (42). Paul led Pitt Johnstown in scoring 12 times and rebounding 12 times during the 2003-04 season. He scored in double figures 23 times, including 20 or more points in four games. Paul also had five double digit rebounding games. In just two years, Paul has scored 755 points. With 245 points, Paul will become the 14th Mountain Cat to reach the 1,000-point plateau.

Paul Byer's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

Byer has excellent pro basketball potential.  Hats off to his coaches throughout the years of his high school and collegiate career as this skilled player can do so many things on the floor to hurt an opposing defense.  Has remarkable basketball IQ and a good athlete to match, which makes him scary.  Was one of the top players all-around that we had at our camp!  Can really rebound the basketball well.  Handles the ball average for his size and position.  Excels on the perimeter when he catches and shoots the basketball from 3-point range or mid-range.  Very fundamentally sound at the wing position and looks comfortable with the ball in his hand while making decisions.  A tough player as displayed on Day 3 of camp when he was gashed over the face.  However, this player kept playing and proved he had what it takes to withstand almost anything.  Hard-nosed defender who really gets after it.  Again, a player with pro basketball potential and look for Byer to be around the pro basketball ranks on a regular basis.

College:  Coppin State University '05-NCAA I

College:  Led Coppin in blocks the past three seasons and ranks fourth on the school’s all-time list with 105…Is Fang Mitchell’s first Texas recruit.

Henry Colter's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

As a lot of basketball campers know exposure camps are usually controlled by the guards but that didn’t take away from the play of Colter who stands 6’11” and showed dominance inside.  Displayed good range and shooting touch for his size.  One of the best pro prospects at our camp.  Long and athletic player who surprisingly had decent handle.  Rebounds the ball very effectively.  Runs the floor really well.  Also showed steady improvement day after day at camp, which says he has room for improvement with the skills he already has.  Displays good passing skills.  One of the best defenders we’ve seen at our camp in the two years we’ve been in existence.  Even played players on the wing and moved his feet well.  Because of his length takes up a lot of areas on the floor and recovers well.  Can stand for improvement in the weight room, which will only help him but merely an opportunity for improvement.  Pro potential in unlimited relative to pro size and ability.

Braun Dabbs 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Evaluation

As any player who attended our camp will probably tell you and surely our staff Dabbs was one of the top performers we had in attendance during 2005.  True point guard who can really put the ball in the basket in a lot of ways.  Explosive athlete who can get to the basket and finish against much taller defenders.  Has tremendous athletic ability.  Also displayed great physical strength.  Really dominates in an up-tempo game with him scoring or passing.  Rebounds great for his size.  Handles the ball exceptionally well especially in transition.  Great at throwing the lob-pass to athletic wing players.  One the best shooters we had at camp. Shot the ball from both mid-range and 3-point range consistently.  Has great competitive spirit and when he gets going he is hard to stop!  Plays good on the ball defense and can pressure guards end to end.  Our staff feels Dabbs has a bright pro basketball future and with the right playing opportunity he will produce constantly year after year.

College:  N/A

College-N/A (Note:  Player (True Point Guard!!) with pro basketball ability looking for college to possibly attend)

Ulises de la Vega's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

Without question in a pro caliber point guard.  A true point guard with every meaning of the word.  As our staff member Gary Anderson stated, “de la Vega is the kind of point guard a coach can just sit back and smile on game day and doesn’t have to worry about”.  A leader and a player who is a fiery competitor.  Has great intangibles.  Not heard of much in contrast to basketball statements but he can beat you with just setting up his teammates.  Makes players around him better.  A point guard who is a scoring mentality shooting guards DREAM.  Loves to pass the basketball and put his teammates in great positions to score.  A vocal leader who get players in the right spots.  Head always up in transition looking for the right play to make.  Has great ball handling ability.  Rebounds okay but does play honest and solid defense.  On the defensive end won’t go for to many steals and put his teammates in bad situations to help and disrupt the defensive scheme, which goes back to his true point guard mentality.   Career is in his own hands as our staff feels he has a great career ahead of him.

Nitin Dhiman's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

From his profile has played on a pro basketball level and coached by great Ivan Guzman (DR).  A natural shooting guard who can play a little point guard.  A good athlete.  Rebounds the ball okay.  Handles the ball pretty well but can stand some improvement in contrast to his guard position and the possibility of the playing the point position.  Shoots the ball really well from the outside as proven in his play during camp competition.  During his last game at camp posted an impressive 13 points on 5-7 shooting and showed flashes of good potential.  Plays really solid on the defensive end and seems to be very fundamentally sound and disciplined.  Dhiman is a very solid performer with pro international experience!

Named MVP in annual North-South game ... named top defensive player.

Elijah J. Frasier's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

Frasier is a player who has been well coached throughout his career.  As noted in college playing at Newberry College where 2004 Senior Camp participant Rashard Carter played his collegiate ball and eventually earned a pro basketball contract playing in Germany this past season.  Frasier is a point guard who are staff was very impressed with.  Makes very premeditated decisions on the basketball court, which is what you want form your point guard.  A great scorer but looks to set up his teammates more.  In his last game at camp posted 15 points (7-12 shooting (2-4 NBA 3-point range)) in an impressive showing.  In saying that, might need to look too score a little more because he is very capable of putting the ball in the basket.  Has a nice basketball build and displays good strength while in competition. Has good shooting touch from the outside.  Handles the ball very well, has a fundamentally sound point guard handle.  Passes the ball well and gets the basketball to the right people in good positions.  Feeds the post well with vital passes.  Very good defender who puts heat on an opposing guard.  One of the top overall point guards we had at camp.  Would be a good addtion to a lot of pro teams.

Anthony Hatcher's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

Hatcher was a PRIMETIME performer during our 2005 Senior Camp.  Has very good pro potential from the shooting guard position.  Complete player!  Can see that Hatcher plays a lot of basketball, as he seems to be very comfortable in almost every situation on the court.  Good athlete who can create his own shot.  Has good quickness and is a solid leaper.  Also Hatcher is a good ball handler and passer.  Competes well on both ends of the floor.  Shoots the ball really well and moves without the basketball.  Stands out on the defensive end, as he seems to take a lot of pride on that end of the floor.  Gets into passing lanes and moves his feet well in man to man coverage.  Gets his hands on a lot of balls.  Overall, just a good basketball player who has all the tools it takes to succeed.  Good prospect that should indeed get quite a few looks.

Larry Henderson's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

Henderson is a tremendous player and was one of the select few performers that dominated our Senior Camp from start to finish.  Pro position is shooting guard (good- sized two-guard) but loves to bang with the bigger players.  To note, can play the small forward position effectively on a pro level if needed.  Has an unusual knack for the basketball.  In saying that, always in the right spot at the right time.  One of the top athletes that we had in attendance.  Big hands.  Well-rounded offensive player with a great feel for the game.  Great team player.  Has an okay handle.  Has nice range on his jumper.  A very tough player who leaves everything on the court.  An excellent rebounder especially on the offensive end.  Explosive off the ground.  Gets a lot of put backs.  Just a very good player and would surely be a steal for a lot of pro team.

Fredrick Jernigan's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Evaluation

Jernigan is a small point guard who is extremely quick.  Played solid during camp.  Good athletically.  A player who loves to push the basketball.  Needs to be more vocal from the point guard position by directing players.  Not really a factor from a rebounding standpoint but does go after loose rebounds hard.  During Day 1 of camp in our individual skills and test played really hard and impressed our staff with his tenacious play.   Had an okay Day 2 during competition.  But during Day 3 of camp showed promise as he displayed great range on his jump shot making a few NBA 3-point field goals.  Tough player.  Good defender who has really quick feet and stays in front of his man.  Solid performer.

Kareem is a player who performed solid during camp.  Very sound player.  Has good strength with the basketball and is very fundamentally sound.  Seemed to be well coached throughout his career.  During Day 1 of our camp went through every drill like fine art work.  Shoots the ball well.  Has average handle but quick enough to create his own shot.  Defends okay.  Played on a very talented team at camp and played passive in Day 2 of our camp.  However, played very impressive in his final camp game posting 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assist, and 2 steals as he looked above average against his competition.  Has very good basis and a solid sized mid-level pro guard.  Staff states he is coachable and wants to get better and learn.  Solid!

Lorenzo Lawrence's 2005 Senior invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

Lawrence has lot of professional basketball potential and our staff feels he can have an effective lengthy career.  A cerebral player who is comfortable at both guard spots.  Very good at creating his own shot.  Has good quickness and tremendous leaping ability.  Takes the ball to the basket on a pro level and finishes well.  Great body control!  Dunks the ball gracefully.  Needs to make the transition fully to the point position if he wants to play on an elevated basketball center stage (NBA).  However, he’s athletic and skilled enough to play the shooting guard position on many pro levels.  Has an outstanding mid-range game.  Can pull up on the drop of a dime during half court sets and in transition.  Great elevation on his jump shot.  Can really pass the basketball well…sets teammates up perfect for unbelievable scoring opportunities (uncontested lay-ups).  His rare athletic ability helps him in the rebounding department.  Tough player who is a great competitor.  Defense is solid.  Lawrence has all the skills to compete on a high pro basketball level.  Has our staff’s highest recommendation!

College:  Played college basketball at Tuskegee University while playing well in the SIAC Conference.  Averaged 14 points per game over his career.

Michael Leggett's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

No question Leggett had an outstanding camp, as he was one of the leaders in several major categories as detailed on our websites 2005 Men & Women Stats Page.  Came to our camp as free-agent and also has some pro basketball experience having ties with a USBL semi-pro team.  A combo guard who has good size and excellent physical strength.  Seems to be more comfortable at the shooting guard position but did run the point position well during play at camp.  His shot selection can stand some improvement but merely an opportunity for development with a pro team and pro sets.  A solid athlete.  Takes the ball to the basket with great confidence.  Great at drawing contact from defenders.  Can be a handful for opposing defenders when he gets on a roll and his confidence starts to soar.  A good perimeter shooter who doesn’t shy away from taking big shots.  Very tough player on both ends of the floor.  Takes a lot of pride on the defensive end.  Very solid performer who should definitely get some good opportunities on a pro level.  Remember he does have previous pro experience.

Ronald Mackey's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

Mackey is a good talent but an undersized 2-Guard for a pro team on a high level.  Should concentrate on playing the point position.  However, could possibly be a good addition to International Pro Team because of his physical attributes.  Showed good signs during Day 1 of our individual drills and test.  During the next 2 days of camp played a bit complacent possibly because he was playing out of position and against an array of other top pro prospects.  Has a pretty god feel for the game.  Shoots the okay from the outside.  Has great strength and a tough player.  Where Mackey really excels at is the defensive end.  Not to many players scored on him as he takes great pride on the defensive end.  Reminds you of an Eric Snow-NBA type player.  If he concentrates on playing the point position should get some looks from pro teams.  But again could possibly play now on a lower Pro International Level.

Jonathan Martin's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

Martin is a player with good pro potential and has a great pro body.  Has the strength and ability to power through big men to collect fouls on opposing defenders.  Very strong imposing player.  Martin offense comes from the post and offensive put backs.  Played well with his back to the basket when reciving the ball from the wing.  As shown in Day 1 individual skills and test he can face the basket and knock down the 12-15 foot jump shot.  Runs the floor pretty well in transition.  On the rebounding end he moves people around in the post with his size.  Was on of the top rebounders we had at camp (11.0 rpg).  Plays good low post defense…fundamentally sound in that area.  Good team player!  Has promise and with his effective work ethic would be a good addition for a lot of pro teams.  One of the top post players we had at camp in the past two years.

MVP of The 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp.  A player who has great NBA potential being relative to position, height, weight, and also ability.  Well-coached throughout his career.  Versatile player who can play 3 different positions on a pro level.  Very good athlete who jumps out of the gym and also displays good strength.  Great rebounder from the guard postion.  Handles the ball okay.  Shoots the ball well from the outside (Can knock down the NBA 3-point shot consistently).  McCullough is a very tough kid who has a nose for the basketball.  Finishes well at the rim and attacks the basket.  On the defensive end his athletic ability really helps him.  Recovers well and plays well off the ball defense.  Has outstanding potential and our staff feels like McCullough will have a prosperous and outstanding professional basketball career on almost any level.

Russell is a player who is very solid and also a player that every team needs.  A fundamentally sound player who can shoot the basketball well.  Has professional basketball shooting ability.  Has good basketball instinct.  A natural shooting guard who plays the position and plays it well.  Needs to look to create more off the dribble.  Has average athletic ability.  Handles the basketball well on the perimeter and in tough situations.  Has good mental and physical toughness.  Plays honorable defense.  Player with good size relative to pro position especially on the International Level.  Can see that Russell will really excel in more of a team type of atmosphere in contrast to an exposure camp.  Has good potential.

Bearcats.  As a senior averaged 10.5 points and 4 rebounds a night.  Shot 42% from 3-point range.  Also, has stellar JUCO career at PBCC scoring 45 points in a single game.  Great college career.

Bobby St. Preux's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

St. Pruex was indeed one of the top performers we had in attendance.  This talented player also put on an extravagant performance for our staff and spectators in the final game as he posted 31 points (6 dunks/3-5 NBA 3-point range), 7 rebounds, 3 assist, and 3 steals in one of the best single game performances we’ve seen in our 2 years.  Was one of the leading scorers we had at our 2005 Senior Camp averaging 21.2 points per game.   Has great pro potential relative to size, ability, and position.  Smart player who has a great feel for the game.  Scores a lot of points but doesn’t rush anything.  One of the best athletes we’ve seen in the past two years.  Jumps out of the gym!  Rebounds really well from the guard position and handles the ball well to add.  Plays respectable defense but needs to be a little more verbal on both ends.  The sky is the limit for St. Preux and once this talented player gets into the pro basketball circuit he’ll be there for years and years.  A steal for almost any team!

Kevin Shorter's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

Shorter is a player that our staff got to know off the court and he is as good of a person as he is a player.  And that says a lot because Shorter was indeed one of the Top 5 Pro Prospects relative to height, weight, position, and ability we had in attendance during our 2005 Senior Camp.  Has very good potential and averaged a double-double (11.5 points and 10.0 rebounds a game during camp play) against some of the best talent around the country.  Has a very good basketball IQ.  Just a smart player on the court who doesn’t force anything or make many mistakes. A player who shows a lot of gifted athletic attributes.  Runs the floor extremely well.  One of the top rebounding players we had at camp and really attacks the glass on both ends.  Has an okay handle and goes out to the wing regularly.  Has a good shooting touch and his range extends to 18-feet.  Has all the extra things that are hard to find with players nowadays.  Great team player!  Plays defense well on the low post and can also guard the wing position well.  Shorter will be a great catch for a pro team looking for an all-around good player and individual.  Gets our staff’s reference and stamp of approval to almost any pro team.

Taylor is a PRIMETIME performer who our staff felt arguably was the best point guard pound for pound that we had at camp this year (2005) and possibly in 2004.  A fine-tuned athlete who has been well coached throughout his basketball career.  Carries himself and plays like a pro!  Has astonishing pro playing potential and is an ideal pro point guard.  Can penetrate and dish and is a very good rebounder from the backcourt position.  An excellent outside shooter who can create for himself and others.  Has a very strong build for a point guard.  Makes players around him better and raises the energy of his teammates.  Can handle the basketball really well.  Has a textbook jump shot and has great pro range and consistency to match.  Has a good mid-range game where he keeps defenders off balance.  Tough player who is always in attack mode.  Very good defender who is very disciplined on that end of the floor.  Any pro team looking for a point guard to produce and add a winning attitude…James Taylor is your guy!

Our staff is very familiar with Taylor as he received Camp MVP honors for his outstanding play in our 2004 Camp.  Had several pro offers from teams but opted to finish his college education where he did receive his degree.  He states that he is now ready to continue his basketball career on a pro level.  And our staff feels he would indeed be a great addition for a selection of pro teams.  During our 2005 Camp displayed great confidence and court savvy.  Can play 4 different positions on the court and at 6’5” can play the point guard position if needed.  A very good athlete who has a very long wingspan.  Has good jumping ability.  An excellent rebounder especially on the offensive end.  Can handle the ball really well, which is shown as he gets defensive rebounds and starts the break.  Loves to slash to the basket.  Shoots the ball well from the outside but excels in the mid-range game (15-18 feet).  Can shoot the Pro 3-point shot.  Wingspan and athletic ability makes him a tremendous defender.  And   Improved from last year’s camp, which shows dedication to basketball.  A pro player with unlimited potential without question.

Wright is a coaches DREAM.  A player who is a raw talent and has mind-boggling gifted athletic ability.  Jumps out of the gym!  One of the best leapers we’ve seen at our camp in the both years we’ve been in existence.  Has great pro potential due to his extraordinary physical gifts.  Can rebound the basketball really well and was one of leaders statistically at our 2005 camp.  Has an okay shooting touch…range goes out to 15 feet.  Very tough player who never gives up on a play.  Was one of our staff member’s favorite players at camp as he stated, “Wright has NBA athletic ability”.  Stands out on the defensive end as he changes a lot of player’s shots and gets his hands on quite a few to add.  Sky could be the limit for Wright as all he needs to do is apply himself and get the pro skills to match his pro ability.  Good catch for a lot of teams!
