Courtney Brown's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

Brown is a player who comes from a very solid Division I basketball program.  Physically she is a solid performer.   Brown displays a immense basketball IQ on the court.  Has legitimate athleticism.  A player who has good ball skills and can handle well on the perimeter and inside.  Has great pro size from the guard position at 6’0”.  A versatile player who shoots the ball well from the outside and not afraid to go in against taller players.  Needs to look for her offense a little more.  Plays good defense but needs to work on her foot speed.  Crashes the boards well.  Has a very good attitude and seemed at camp to be an excellent teammate.  Overall a good player who has solid skills in many areas.

Deneva Fogarty's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

Forgarty was indeed one of the top overall performers we had in attendance.  Not to mention, arguably the best pure point guard as well.  A quick, aggressive, athletic hard worker with a good attitude.  Point guard who has very good ball skills and plays well in the open court.  Great passer who loves to push the basketball.  Seems to work well in a team concept, would indeed excel on a pro level running an offense.  A scoring guard who has a good shooting touch and also above average at penetrating to the basket.  Very good at handling the basketball in half court sets and in transition.  Will not really be a factor from the rebounding department on a pro level but does a great job getting after loose balls.  Has good toughness.  A disciplined defensive player who gets a lot of steals.  Very smart defender!  Fogarty is a point guard with pro potential and would be a good player for a team to grab hold of.

Erika Johnson's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

Johnson is a player who our staff was indeed impressed with on and off the court.  Strong player both mentally and physically.  A player who uses her body well and displays good quickness.  Has great hands.  One of the top 3-point shooter at camp.  Also, has a very nice mid-range jump shot that is very consistent.  Handles the ball well.  Good rebounder.  A very smart player and a player who wants to get better.  Team player.  During camp filled in for a player on an opposing camp team and had one of the best single game performances posting 20 points (8-13 shooting (3-5 3-point field goals)), 6 rebounds, 4 assist, 2 steals, and 1 block.  Can’t emphasis enough about this talented players game knowledge, which is very good.  Just an overall good decision maker from both guard spots (point and shooting guard).  Doesn’t force anything.  Very scrappy defender who moves her feet well.  Player with a great work ethic and very coachable.  A player who our staff can see succeeding on a pro level.

Latoya Johnson's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

Johnson is the most talented guard we have had at our camp in our two-year existence.  A player whose talent and skill level is just a few notches above most female players.  Johnson skills are on a WNBA level!  Has been groomed to play basketball and a player who has been well coached throughout her basketball career.  A lefty.  A playmaking point guard who can easily make the transition the 2-guard because of her shooting and creating ability.  Not a great athlete but makes up for it with her exceptional ball skills. Rebounds the ball okay.  Can handle the ball very well as she displays dazzling moves throughout the course of a game.  Can really shoot the basketball well…range extends out to 20-feet.  A tough hard-nosed player who doesn’t back down.  A solid defender.  Has all the skills to compete on a high pro basketball level and has our staff’s highest recommendation.

Kirsti Jones 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

Jones is a crafty point guard who excels in finding open teammates as well as causing problems on the defensive end.  Has great mental toughness and seemed to be a great team leader.  Knows how to run a team.  Jones is a deceptively quick player who finished well around the basket.  Has a nice shooting touch.  Sees the floor extremely well in transition and also during half court sets.  Not really a factor rebounding as she is good verbally and usually is the safety player getting back to stop the opposing teams break.  Good defender who understands defensive concepts, where hats goes off to her college coaches.  Has a very good knowledge of the game.  Very solid player with good potential.

McWilliams is indeed a pro caliber combo guard.  Was the most consistent player that we had at camp during 2005.  Has the persona of a pro basketball player.  Was one of the best shooters we’ve seen in our 2 years!  Hard worker who is athletic and quick end-to-end.  Has above average ball handling skills in the half court, open court, and under maximum pressure.  Very active without the basketball and has great basketball knowledge about offensive concepts.  Good rebounding guard who gets in and battles with the post players.  To get back to McWilliams shooting she has great range on her jump shot and has pro consistency.  Averaged 2 made 3-point field goals per game at camp.  A pleasure to watch this player perform at camp, as she was overall the best performer game after game.  A player who was indeed one of the Top 3 pro prospects that we had in attendance this year.  Would be a steal for an array of pro teams.

Layla Schwarz's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

Schwarz is a PRIMETIME performer that indeed did have the most pro basketball potential being relative to size, position, and playing ability we had at camp on the women’s side.  One of the top overall players we’ve ever seen at camp in both our 2 years.  Not only that Schwarz dominated our 2005 camp in every game she played both on the offensive and defensive ends of the floor.  Has great basketball instincts and really understands the game.  Athletically gifted.  Handles the ball exceptionally well.  Has professional post player height at 6’4” but this extraordinarily gifted athlete can play the wing position very effectively.  Schwarz rebounds the basketball above average both from an athletic and fundamental standpoint.  Staff gave praise all weekend long on her shooting being able to show both range and great mechanics on her jump shot.  Can pull-up going right and left off the dribble, which is unusual from a player with her size.  Very agile while on the wing as well as in the post.  One of the best defender we had at camp during 2005.  We feel that this player will indeed have a very long pro basketball career on about any level.  She gets our stamp of approval as well as our highest recommendation.

JoAnn Smith-Figures 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

Smith-Figures is a player who is a very talented and has the ability to knife her way through defenses like mo other player we’ve seen.  Really knows how to pick her spots and find open teammates for great scoring opportunities.  A true point guard who knows how to run a offense and would be perfect in a half-court pro team situation.  An average athletic player who uses her basketball impulse to get by.  Rebounds the ball okay from the point position but is know to verbally bet back on defense but does go after loose balls on occasion.  Has a very solid point guard handle and she won’t turn the ball over much.  Has an okay shooting touch from the outside.  Tough player who really gets after it on defense.  Overall solid player that would be a good fit for a International Pro Basketball Team.

Lakisha Spencer's 2005 Senior Invitational Pro Basketball Camp Evaluation

Spencer is a player who knows how to put the ball in the basket.  A combo guard whose play improved game by game at camp.  Was one of the players who a staff member said, “ Was one of the top scoring threats at camp”.  A player who moves very well without the basketball and looks for spots on the floor and always gets in scoring position while playing the 2-guard.  While playing the point role finds teammates well and makes good passes.  One of the better rebounding guards that we had at camp.  Has a good handle with the basketball.  Has a good shooting touch but should extend her range a little.  Very tough competitor who plays well on both ends of the floor and does a great job of getting back on defense and running the floor on offense.  Has a god chance to get some pro looks.
